Safi’s Executive Director
In 1992, Mary Nelson, Safi School Project’s founder and Executive Director, began a math/science seminar in Tanzania. This
collaborative action with Tanzanian and American teachers launched her journey in Africa. For 14 years following, others joined Mary in forming and completing projects in many Tanzanian schools. This paved the way for the 2006 creation of Safi School Project.
