Just imagine...

Imagine wanting an education that you can’t afford, so badly that you sneak into the classroom just so you can learn.

Imagine that you care so much about your community that you go through all the educational levels (Levels of Education) with no guarantee that the government will give you a job in your chosen field.

Imagine that you’re a young girl, and staying in school can help prevent you from being married at the age of 13.

Imagine you live in a country that has a 70 percent unemployment rate, and you can’t afford to take for granted your opportunities for an education and a career.

Now imagine how you can help just one student pursue a dream for an education and a ticket out of poverty. That one student will, in turn, work to improve life for their family and their community, and help their country become more self-sufficient in providing for their own people.

But there’s no need to imagine. You can hear directly from students who’ve received support and assistance and read testimonials from current sponsors.

In Tanzania, 1/4 of 1% of student who begin school ever make it to university level. To help you visualize, in the U.S 1/10th of 1% of kids who play football ever make it to the pros.

"In poor communities, families can not afford to pay school fees so their children's education ends with the end of primary school.  The cycle of poverty continues.  Students know they must reach further in order to find a brighter future."
                 ~ Kristina Tamm-Finnerud, Sponsor
Sponsorship donations are designated for student fees only. This is Safi’s focus, regardless of what other help is given to a school. Basic secondary education in TZ takes four years. If students progress, there are two more ‘post-secondary’ years before University.
Go to the Donate Page for information on how to donate and what your money will provide.

Meet Vicky and her Mother -
First born of a family of two children, her father passed away in 2010 when she was a 5-year-old. Her mother, who has not been sufficiently employed, grinds stones to make a living for the three of them.
Vicky’s family shares one bedroom in a house with no electricity. Evening studies are difficult.  With all these features Vicky has found a true meaning to school and working hard.
She wants to become a doctor, and be able to help her family, especially her mother. Vicky's academics are outstanding, becoming the first student in her class.
