John's notes about week 1

2/4/2013

First week completed, and what a week it was. Pictures taken of sponsored students, school bags distributed and new friends made and old acquaintances renewed. But the two BIG events at Ngateu were the presentation of 10 laptop computers for the computer laboratory and 6 microscopes for the science laboratory.

Safari to Tarangire Park was a huge success! Abundant animals and magnificent views. We saw a Cheetah take down a young impala!

We have had a wonderful time visiting N'gateu and visiting with the students. They are a wonderful group.
We have also had a good time visiting Tarangire National Park and what a trip that was. The very first game drive out of the lodge after we got to the lodge we saw a cheetah make a kill! And lots of elephants, impalas, waterbucks, and warthogs. We have also been getting a great education on birds.

Test 2 for comments. Since we are newly on this site I'm testing functionality and ironing out bugs. Elaine has sent new pictures for me to post. Wait until you see the rain photo!
