John and I have been here for over a week and we have been busy with meetings and conversations and WAITING. Today we are waiting for Eliza and Steven, she's the school bursar. And we've had wonderful parties at their home. They want to talk about offering their house to Safi in some way.
Today was the preacher from the Lutheran Pentecostals, we think. The music was great, if louder than anyone should listen to. Rosie Melau was the lead singer for the choir and the half hour "prelude". She is sponsored at Ngateu by the Alsbaughs and is a spark plug! Then the preacher from another parish to ask for money for the diocese and preach and preach and preach. John timed him at 1 hr. 15 min. And still going when we sneaked out. Actually, I left earlier because it was so loud that I had to sit outside -and it was still loud. Not our favorite church service. We ate lunch and took naps. And now we are waiting.
Freedom Lodge is more beautiful with the addition of paintings and maps on the walls and the bar in the garden, built around a tree. everyone is still warm and welcoming and very helpful.
