Ngateu Is Awesome

We've been here almost a week and have been blessed to be so busy meeting people, learning about all we will be doing and so happy to be settling into Freedom Lodge.

Our first order of business was a quick visit to Ngateu.  It is awesome that, students, teachers and staff delayed their school holiday for one week in order to accommodate our travel schedule. After a warm welcome from Head of School, Grace John, student leaders and teachers, we toured the facilities. Plans were made for our time working at Ngateu next week.  Then we were off on safari to Tarangire Park for the week-end.

The variety and number of animals in Tarangire was like a “mini” great migration. There were numerous, and mostly lazy, lions in slumbering piles and on limbs, herds of lumbering  elephants and troops of frolicking monkeys and baboons. We also learned about the “culture” of termites from our driver, Kelvin.

We had a wonderful safari....all the big five
